New Program - Virtual Shared Meals!
Caltech alumni and associates have priceless experience and a wealth of knowledge to share with Caltech students, who are genuinely eager for advice or support. To help connect these groups, the Career Services team recently introduced "Virtual Shared Meals." This new program brings together alum/associate hosts and small groups of students in a fun and unique way through Zoom. One recent student participant said "I really enjoyed getting to interact with an alum—I feel like we don't always get enough opportunities to do so, and this was nice even though virtual. Hearing about their path was reassuring in a way, but also very informative and helpful."
The Career Development Center arranges the Zoom meeting and provides the means for students to order their meal of choice online. Then, at the designated time, everyone joins the meeting and spends about 1 ½ hours eating together and chatting about their Caltech experience and career path/goals.
The Career Development Center has received plenty of positive feedback from hosts and students that have enjoyed spending time together through these virtual shared meals!
For more information about these events, please contact Marie Lara (email@example.com).
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Career Development Center is currently working remotely. We are still available to assist you with any career/grad school/pre-med related concerns. Please visit our Virtual Office page to learn more.
Students or postdocs that may have had their summer internship or full-time job cancelled due to COVID-19 are encouraged to set up an appointment with one of our career counselors through Handshake, or connect with our office via email - firstname.lastname@example.org.
